PTO COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS
Box Top Committee

No volunteers are needed for this committee! Simply clip Box Tops throughout the year and send them into school in a Baggie labeled with your child’s name and section to be counted towards the yearly contest, which will be announced after school begins.
Christmas Store Committee
Volunteers may sign up for this Committee at Back to School Night. Volunteers are needed for store set-up on Monday, December 10, 2018 and for tear-down on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 following the last shopping period. Volunteers are also needed to assist students with shopping during their scheduled times (shopping will take place on Tuesday, December 11 and Wednesday, December 12, 2018 with times for classes to be announced). Volunteers are encouraged to help for longer periods of time than just when your child is shopping; help is especially needed when younger students are visiting the store.
Cookies & Cocoa Committee
This event is for students in 3rd, 4th & 5th grades. Volunteers will be asked to sign up on a link that will be sent home via letter to these classes in early December. Volunteers are needed to make the cocoa, help with set-up and tear-down and to assist in serving cookies to the students. Parents of 3rd, 4th & 5th graders will be asked to provide the cookie donations for this event.
Easter Candy Sale

1-2 volunteers are needed to assist the chair with Easter candy sale paperwork prior to the delivery date, and to be available on the pick-up date (Thursday, April 11, 2019). The Easter Candy Sale kicks off on Wednesday, February 6, 2019.
Fall Fundraiser Committee
Fall Fundraiser packets will be sent home on Thursday, September 13, 2018 (as a reminder, this is the PTO’s only MANDATORY fundraiser, and all SCLS families must participate). 1-2 volunteers are needed to help organize the boxes on the Fall Fundraiser pick-up date (Thursday, November 15, 2018), and to stay to assist for the pick-up. Volunteers can sign up for this committee at Back to School Night.
Field Day Committee

This event is for Grades 1-7, and will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019. Volunteers will be asked to sign up via School Messenger for either half day or full day shifts, and will be asked to run stations at Field Day.
Giant A+ Rewards

No volunteers needed for this committee! Simply register your Giant Bonus Card number, and SCLS will earn money back every time you make a purchase using your Bonus Card…. It’s that easy! Instructions for registering your number will be sent home after the school year starts, and can also be found under the PTO Fundraisers tab on the website.

Volunteers can sign up to help at this Catholic Schools Week event, held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at Back to School Night. Duties of volunteers include handing out prizes, distributing Bingo cards, helping to serve drinks and snacks, and with set-up and tear-down.
Ice Cream Social Committee

Volunteers can sign up to help at both the fall social on Friday, September 21, 2018, and with spring social on Friday, May 31, 2019, via a link sent through School Messenger prior to each Ice Cream Social. Volunteers are needed for set-up and tear-down, to scoop ice cream, or to work at the water and pretzel table.
Kindergarten Program Committee
1-2 1st grade parent volunteers are needed to “give back” by helping at the Kindergarten graduation on Thursday, May 23, 2019. Duties include filling drinks and slicing cake at the reception following the Kindergarten graduation program, and assisting with tear-down. Volunteers can sign up at Back to School Night.
Middle School Dance Committee
The Middle School Dance is for 6th, 7th & 8th grades – SCLS STUDENTS ONLY. Volunteers will be asked to serve as chaperones for the dance on Friday, October 26, 2018 via School Messenger and a letter sent home. Volunteers will also be requested to assist in set-up and decorating for the dance.
Restaurant & Retail Fundraiser Committee
Volunteers are not needed for this committee! Your support of our restaurant and retail fundraisers is all that is required. Ideas for restaurant nights can be sent to the chairs.
Royal Run Spaghetti Dinner Committee
Volunteers can sign up at Back to School Night to work at the dinner on Wednesday, May 15, 2019. Helpers are needed as servers, to prepare food in the kitchen, to work the take-out counter, for set-up and for tear-down.
Skating Party Committee

Sub Sale Committee
No volunteers needed as this is taken care of by the PTO Board.
8th Grade Graduation
7th grade parent volunteers will be asked to sign up at Back to School Night to “pay it forward” and help with 8th grade graduation on Friday, May 31, 2019. Volunteers are needed to work at the reception following the 8th grade graduation mass. Duties include set-up and tear-down, and helping to serve the food and drinks at the reception.
Uniform Sale Committee

Volunteers can sign up at Back to School Night to assist the chair during sale days 3 times a year.
Winter Coat Drive Committee

No volunteers needed. Families will be asked to donate gently used winter coats, hats, gloves and scarves to the Winter Coat Drive. This event will be kicking off on Wednesday, November 7, 2018.
