Church Schedule October 4-8

While our priests are attending the Continuing Education Workshop, Daily Mass will not be available at Saint Catherine’s.  Adoration, Novena and Confessions will not be held on Monday, October 4th. Please refer to the Daily Mass Schedule below for times and locations. 

In order to maintain the beauty and cleanliness of our Shrine Church, a thorough carpet/church cleaning has been scheduled from Monday, October 4-Thursday, October 7. During this period, there will no daily Masses, Eucharistic Adoration or access to the narthex and Shrine.  The church will reopen on Friday, October 8.  We thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this time.

Grieving with Great Hope Support Program – begins on October 6, 2021

Grief is a natural reaction to loss, and mourning is our intentional response.  Parishioners who have experienced the loss of a loved one are invited to participate in a weekly Support Group program based on the Grieving with Great Hope series.  Facilitators are gentle, caring individuals who themselves have experienced the loss of a loved one.  Participants need not attend all sessions.  Registration is not required but requested for planning purposes.  If interested, contact the parish office at 717.564.1321 or click here to register.

 

Blessing of the Animals October 9

All are invited to bring your pets—large and small— for this special blessing. We set aside this day each year to commemorate the life of Saint Francis of Assisi, Patron Saint of Animals.  We look forward to seeing you.

 

Rosary Event October 2

October is traditionally noted as Respect Life month and the month of the Rosary.  Our parish will be holding a prayer event on Saturday, October 2, at 9:30 a.m.  Please join us in praying the rosary to ask Our Lady for her intercession and assistance in the many concerns in our world.  The rosary event will be held outdoors at Our Lady of the Globe Plaza.

 

Council of Catholic Women Fall Retreat

The Harrisburg Diocese Council of Catholic Women are hosting a Fall Retreat on Saturday, September 25 from 8:15 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at Saint Catherine Laboure Parish.

Cost is $15.00 and includes continental breakfast/lunch.

The day will begin with the Rosary and Mass celebrated by Father Lease.  Workshop topics include:

  • Women in the Bible
  • Closer to God through Mary
  • The Role of Women in Evangelization

As we Walk for Life on September 11, 2021

Walk registration is FREE!  The event begins with a 5K race on City Island, followed by a pancake breakfast and walker check in at 8:30 a.m.  The 5K walk begins at 10:00 a.m.   Funds raised from this annual event go towards helping women, children and families in Central PA.  Your support will provide critical resources needed to serve more than 2000 clients who come to Morning Star for counseling, treatments, ultrasounds and so much more.
