DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY 
APRIL 24, 2022

Please join us in the Shrine Church on Sunday, April 24 at 2:00 p.m. The afternoon will include: Exposition & Adoration, recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, Confession, Vespers and Benediction. Our speaker for the afternoon will be Father Ken Roth.

To prepare for the Easter Triduum, the parish office will close on Holy Thursday, April 14 at noon. The office will be closed on Good Friday, April 15 and Easter Monday, April 18. The office will reopen on Tuesday, April 19.

On Wednesday, April 6, we will have our Parish Synodal Consultation presented by Father Lease as our Lenten Evening of Reflection. The key question is “What is the Holy Spirit saying to the Church today?” Click to view the Synod Questions.

Please join us in Leo Hall (soup supper is at 5:30 PM) and the program begins at 6:00 p.m.

As we begin the Lenten season, CCW invites all to share in providing Easter   meals and the message of Easter Hope to our larger community.  Your donations of $10.00 grocery Gift Cards (Giant, Weis, or Walmart), or financial donations in any amount are being collected for distribution.  The smaller denomination gift cards are requested to make distribution to individuals easier.

Donations may be placed in the collection basket, mailed to, or dropped off at the parish office.  Please be sure to write “CCW Easter Project” on the outside envelope.  Donations will be accepted through Saturday, April 9.

Beneficiaries of your generosity include The Silence of Mary Home, St. Francis of Assisi Church, and the Interfaith Shelter, where Easter meals and community assistance will be provided.

Additionally, we will be collecting your messages of hope and community.  Please stop by the display in the narthex to write or sign a note to be included with the donations.

Week 1: Pandemic and Penitence
COVID-19 Has Reordered What Matters Most. “The pandemic feels like a never-ending penitential season, with forced fasting, imposed self-denial, and plenty of unanswered prayers.”

Week 2: The Legacy of Lent
Don’t Give Up Something. “As we journey through Lent, may we reflect on the example of Jesus and be inspired to do something to improve the lives of one or more in our community.”

Week 3: Living the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy

Week 4: Our Lady of Mercy

Week 5: Synodal Consultation

The CCW is selling R & K sandwiches. All proceeds benefit the CCW programs and projects in the parish and surrounding community. The cost for a sandwich is $5.00 and the meal (sandwich, chips, and water) is $6.00. Your choice of sandwiches include: Tuna, egg salad, or cheese.

Payment is due upon placing your order. All checks are made payable to St. Catherine Labouré CCW and may be sent to the parish office. Be sure to label your envelope CCW Sandwich Sale. A member of the CCW will contact you the day before with details on pick up.

Deadline to place orders is Thursday, March 3. Delivery will be on Thursday, March 10.

In celebration of Presidents’ Day, we will follow our National/Federal holiday schedule on Monday, February 21, 2022. The parish office/school are closed. The 6:30 a.m. Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, Miraculous Medal Novena and confessions will not be held. There will be one community Mass celebrated at 8:45 a.m. in the Shrine Church.

Parishioners who have experienced the loss of a loved one are invited to participate in a five weekly Grief Support Group program beginning Thursday, March 3 through Thursday, March 31, 2022. 

This program is based on the Grieving with Great HOPE series developed by John and Sandy O’Shaughnessy. Facilitators are gentle, caring individuals who themselves have experienced the loss of a loved one.

Light refreshments are built into the schedule for a relaxed fellowship. Participants need not attend all sessions.

Join the faithful of the Diocese of Harrisburg for this annual Celebration of Black Catholic history, culture and leaders. His Eminence, Wilton D. Cardinal Gregory, Archbishop of Washington, will serve as Principal Celebrant. All are cordially invited to attend.
