Week 1: Pandemic and Penitence
COVID-19 Has Reordered What Matters Most. “The pandemic feels like a never-ending penitential season, with forced fasting, imposed self-denial, and plenty of unanswered prayers.”
Week 2: The Legacy of Lent
Don’t Give Up Something. “As we journey through Lent, may we reflect on the example of Jesus and be inspired to do something to improve the lives of one or more in our community.”

Ash Wednesday is on March 2, 2022.
Masses on Ash Wednesday are at 6:30 a.m., 8:45 a.m. (School Mass), 12:05 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 7:00 p.m.
Catholics of age 14 and older abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and all the Fridays of Lent. On Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, Catholics from age 18-59 fast, limiting themselves to one full meal and two smaller meals.
The CCW is selling R & K sandwiches. All proceeds benefit the CCW programs and projects in the parish and surrounding community. The cost for a sandwich is $5.00 and the meal (sandwich, chips, and water) is $6.00. Your choice of sandwiches include: Tuna, egg salad, or cheese.

Payment is due upon placing your order. All checks are made payable to St. Catherine Labouré CCW and may be sent to the parish office. Be sure to label your envelope CCW Sandwich Sale. A member of the CCW will contact you the day before with details on pick up.
Deadline to place orders is Thursday, March 3. Delivery will be on Thursday, March 10.
In celebration of Presidents’ Day, we will follow our National/Federal holiday schedule on Monday, February 21, 2022. The parish office/school are closed. The 6:30 a.m. Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, Miraculous Medal Novena and confessions will not be held. There will be one community Mass celebrated at 8:45 a.m. in the Shrine Church.

Parishioners who have experienced the loss of a loved one are invited to participate in a five weekly Grief Support Group program beginning Thursday, March 3 through Thursday, March 31, 2022.
This program is based on the Grieving with Great HOPE series developed by John and Sandy O’Shaughnessy. Facilitators are gentle, caring individuals who themselves have experienced the loss of a loved one.
Light refreshments are built into the schedule for a relaxed fellowship. Participants need not attend all sessions.

Daughters of Mary Prayer Shawl Ministry Meeting

We invite the ladies of the parish who enjoy knitting or crocheting to attend the next meeting of the Prayer Shawl Ministry. Join us on February 1, after the 8:45 a.m. Mass (approximately 9:30 a.m.) in Leo Hall.
Moving forward, we will be meeting the 1st Tuesday of every month. This is a reorganization of the group, and we would enjoy meeting new members, sharing ideas/patterns and serving the needs of our parish and community. Currently, we are making hats/scarfs/mittens/lap blankets and shawls.

On January 26, the Bible Study Class will study Romans 8 and 9. Chapter 9 will be our jumping off point as we examine some philosophical issues like determinism and free will. If you still have your free will, use it to join us for this discussion.
