Bible Study at Saint Catherine Labouré

Our parish has a long history of providing Bible Study classes and programs for parishioners.  Our current Bible Study Class began in 2014 and continues into the new year on Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

Beginning in January, we will explore the connections between the Old Testament and the Book of Revelation, the last Book in the Bible.  This class is available online only.

We are adding a Tuesday evenings Bible Study beginning on January 17, 2023.  The class will run from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in the School Library.

Called  “In the Beginning”  this class will teach us the basics about the Old and New Testaments.  It is also available online.

Unraveling Life’s Issues: Coping with Winter

Join us for a discussion on how to cope with the holidays and winter months.  Learn some tips to guide you through those difficult times and making meaning from suffering by integrating Christian beliefs/practices with empathy and compassion.

Valerie Lemmon earned a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and is currently Professor of Psychology and Assistant Dean of the School of Arts, Culture, and Society at Messiah University, as well as a licensed psychologist at Upturn LLC.

AN AFTERNOON OF PIANO MUSIC

 

Justin Pechulis, our Director of Music, will be offering an afternoon program of piano music.

This program will consist of a number of composers from the Romantic era (19th century), including Schubert, Mendelssohn, Chopin, and Albénz.

There will also be sung music featuring guest soprano Avery Faust.

The program will take place in Leo Hall at 4:00 p.m. Please note the time has changed, and was originally advertised as 3:00 p.m.

The Bible and the Blessed Virgin Mary

Thursdays, October 13 through December 8

The study will use the Augustine Institute’s Lectio series presented by Dr. Brant Pitre.

Session will consist of opening prayer, introduction of the current session topic, a video presentation by Dr. Pitre, followed by a discussion, summary and closing prayer.

There is workbook with daily reflections to deepen our understanding to spend time with during the week.

Unraveling Life Issues: Insurance & Financial Literacy

  •  Have you ever wondered how you could plan better financially for the future, or teach your children how to save?
  • Have you ever tried to figure out life insurance, retirement plans, and the list goes on.
  • Do you have a child with a disability or know someone who does, come hear of assistance opportunities that are available to you.

It can be a daunting task to understand the of world of insurance.  We have someone that can help you better understand this important issue.
