Respect Life Rosary Calendar

RESPECT LIFE ROSARY CALENDAR PROJECT

Please consider joining our parish Respect Life Rosary project, in which parishioners and friends are assigned a monthly date to pray the rosary on their own for the intention of a greater respect for all human life.  Our goal has been to keep a continual vigil of prayer for this vital issue.  Please call Laura at 717.350.4295 if you would like to be included in the upcoming calendar (January thru April 2024).

It’s National Vocation Awareness Week!

November 5 marks the start of National Vocation Awareness Week!

Watch this video to learn more about some of the ways God calls us to lives of self-giving love…and pray about how we can encourage openness to vocations in our St. Catherine’s community!

Do you find it easy to pray?  Do you hear God’s voice in your daily life and know how to respond?  For most of us the answer is no, sometimes finding it hard to pray.  Join us on October 10, 17, 31 and November 7 and 14 from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in Leo Hall.  Come learn how to be more aware of his close presence and overcome distractions.  As you grow closer to God, you will also grow in your relationship with those around you.

The Silence of Mary Home.

September 10, 2023

9:30 AM—completed    Leo Hall

BACKGROUND

Founded by Sue and Very Rudy in 1999, The Silence of Mary Home is committed to serving Jesus in the chronically poor, whether they live within The Silence of Mary family homes, or in the inner cities of Harrisburg. Working closely with other agencies, they identify individuals that do not have a home or place to go due to mental illnesses or other impairment, or physical disabilities. They may be on a housing list, timed out of a shelter, or kicked out of the home in which they were staying. They are both young and old; they may stay for a short time or for years.  Once a person is a member of The Silence of Mary family, regardless of their living situation, they remain in contact. For many, The Silence of Mary has become a resource for life.

To assist in their mission, we are collecting personal hygiene items throughout July and August.

Needed items include sample size:

  • Shampoo
  • Lotions (hand or body)
  • Shaving cream
  • Toothpaste
  • Soap
  • Deodorant

Other needs include toothbrushes, razors, and washcloths, toilet paper.

On Saturday, September 11, 2021, we will participate in the National Day of Service and Remembrance by sorting and assembling these items into personal comfort kits, which will be distributed by The Silence of Mary Home.   Click here to sign up today!
